Ordering
If you are considering ordering one of our designer cakes, here are a few options to help you to get exactly what you are looking for:
First get a quote
Due to the bespoke nature of our products and services, our prices are individually quoted based on your requirements. Indicative prices
If you know what you would like: Use our Enquire Form to send us a description of what you would like us to create for you. Be as detailed as you can, for the more information you provide us with, the better the end result will be. To help us still further, if you have a picture or illustration of the cake, theme, character or subject that we are to base our design on, please do also send this to us.
We will send you an email with price, details, images and indication on how to confirm the orer.
If you do not know exactly what you would like or you need help refining your idea: You can still use our Enquire Form to let us know what your rough ideas are at this stage.
We will send you suggestions and indicative quote.
Order can be confirmed by email or a 'Meet and Taste’ session can be arranged:
After receiving an indicative quote book an appointment with Mela to taste a few different recipes, to run through our wider designer cake portfolio and discuss specific requirements, or have a cake designed uniquely for you.
To help us guide you in finding the perfect design for your wedding, please bring along anything that might inspire your cake, such as a picture of your dress or of the flowers you are going to use, your invitation or colour swatches.
Timing
We usually ask for at least 2 weeks for novelty cakes and 2 months for wedding cake.
To avoid disappointment, is better always order well in advance of your event. Although we are sometimes able to accommodate a last-minute order, we are often fully booked at busy times of the year.
Timing is essential to allow us to plan our schedule as all of our cakes (except our fruit cakes which need time to mature) are freshly baked just before your event to always ensure the softest, lightest, most delicious celebration cakes possible.
Delivery – Collection – Setup
Any designer cake that you order can be picked up from our studio in London. Simply let us know when you would like to come and we will make sure that your cake is securely packaged for transportation.
Delivery of novelty, celebration or small wedding cakes can be made by a trusted cab company and is charged by postcode.
For wedding cake or large novelty cake we offer a personal service of deliver and set-up the cake at the venue so you can enjoy your celebration with no worries.
Charge is on distance starting at £50
If you choose to collect your wedding cake from our studio, we will provide you with full set-up instructions and secure packaging for transportation.
Some cake can be collected up to 2 days before the party.
Let us know your delivery or collection requirements as soon as possible so to allow us to to plan our schedule to meet you preferred time.
Cake Stand Hire
We offer a variety of cake stands for hire.
Please note that cake stands are only available if ordered with a cake and need to be returned to us in tree working day from your event.
